History
Rich in history and culture, the Renmark Hotel was the first community hotel in the British Empire to be established and administered by a trust in 1897.
Over the years the Hotel has witnessed both triumph and tragedy.
The memorable flood of 1956 saw the Renmark township unite in their battle to save the community from floodwaters that came within centimetres of washing the town away.
Today, the Hotel remains proudly owned and operated by the local community. The publicly elected Board maintains its spirit and support for local projects, initiatives and clubs through generous donations and sponsorships.
